Flynn burst into the hallway as Auriga, bleeding from one leg, hobbled past him with Kohana supporting him under one arm. Behind him at the ramp, the Marines were collapsing in a collective heap of exhaustion, Vera checking on all of them.
"Cap'n!" he called, dashing to catch up on their way to the Karah Wind's hidden, well equipped MedBay. "What in the name of Kooroo was that?"
"I think," he growled, wincing against the pain, "it was a Jedi."
Arkwright stopped still in the hall for a second, working his jaw into words. "Wha - ah - who - ... hey, wait up!" He jogged after the duo again. "A Jedi?"
"Yeah ... he had a lightsaber."
"A lightsaber? Are you sure?"
"Well he damn near took my legs off with it, Flynn, I didn't really see the need to stop and take pictures!" Caius sucked air through his teeth against the pain for a moment, then said, "Sorry. It's been a while since my last wound."
"You might have to go in the tank for this, sir," Kohana intoned, joining the conversation. Arkwright still followed along behind them, trying to draw more information out.
"You have the map, though?"
"Yeah. I got it."
"Did San Emu finally tell you what it was, Cap?"
"You know," the Captain replied, grunting with the effort of hopping along next to Kohana, "it musta slipped his mind."
"Well, then, where is he?"
"Resting in the city of his birth."
"Huh? Whaddya mean?" The trio hobbled up to the doors of MedBay on five legs. Arkwright ducked around Kohana and touched the door panel for her, asking, "He wanted to stay there?"
Kohana assisted Auriga in staggering through the door, leading him to a bed. "I guess you could say he lost his head," he quipped.
"Captain!" she cried, grief and shock coloring her voice. She ripped his pant leg away at the knee, going to work quickly.
"Old guy didn't make it," Caius continued, staring up at the ceiling.
"Okay, sir, I want you in a tank now, so you're going in that one right there." She pointed in the general direction of the Karah Wind's tank. "I don't wanna take the time to transfer you to the ship."
"Do what you have to, Doctor. Commander, you've got the con until I'm out. Oh, and one more thing."
"Sir?"
"You might want to have a talk with McCathan. He got more of a shock than the rest of us." Standing, he handed the fragile map fragment to his Exec before hobbling with Kohana towards the tank, he said, "Apparently he was born in that city too."
Flynn stood in the center of MedBay dumbly, looking down at the parchment in his hands. "I thought he was Chandrilan."
Caius turned to look at him and shrugged.
"... so did he."
